Hot power brick and high pitch sound2
I purchased this charger based on the low price and generally positive reviews. My first impression was how short it was compared to the HP charger that came with my laptop but that wasn't a deal breaker. The charger worked fine for a few days, but then the power brick started to get hotter and hotter and make a high pitch sound. The charger was still functioning but the writing was on the wall; the charger was going to fail sooner or later. Instead of risking potential damage to my laptop as a result of a charger malfunction, I return this charger and bought an OEM HP charger for about $10 more (also available on Amazon.com). My situation might be an isolated case as other users have had success with this charger, but ask yourself, "Is saving $10 worth risking your laptop?"

Good charger for the price4
I purchased the product because my original HP adapter completely gave up on me. After reading most of the reviews, I was worried that this would be a waste of money, however, after about a month of use, my charger seems to be holding up fine.

The reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of a 5 is because of two reasons. First, the cord provided (that goes into the outlet) is very short. It's probably about half the length of the original outlet cord. If you have an extension cord then this is no problem, however, it was a minor inconvenience. Secondly, the charger end of the cord isn't an exact fit. It had to be pushed/forced into the laptop and didn't really stay in as it should have. This is actually getting better after repeated use, but it was pretty hard to push in when I first bought it.

All in all, the product gets the job done and is worth the money spent. If your worried about the charger dying out right away, try to find a seller that offers a warranty. I bought it from Global Accessory Services and they offered a one year warranty.

Good for a week1
After receiving my new charger everything was great, for about a week. Then, the power started shorting and a few days later the cord started splitting. Needless to say, I'm a bit upset that I can't use my laptop.
